Showing her best side: Emma Stone smiles on the red carpet at the Beverly Hills premiere of her new movie The Help last night
It's amazing what a good lick of paint can do - as Emma Stone showed last night at the premiere of her new film, The Help.
The 22-year-old actress stepped onto the red carpet looking glamorous in a slinky pastel green dress, teamed with a see-through top.
In fact, she looked unrecognisable from the dowdy character she plays in the movie, set in 1960s Mississippi.
All glamorous: The actress wore a pastel-coloured gown teamed with a see-through top as she promoted the movie
Stone, who is rumoured to be dating her Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield, plays the role of bespectacled, curly-haired Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan in The Help.
The film, based on the novel by Kathryn Stockett, tells the story of three women, including Stone's character and African-American maids Aibileen Clark (Viola Davis) and Minny Jackson (Octavia Spencer).
After graduating from the University of Mississippi, Phelan moves back home to discover her much-loved childhood maid has mysteriously disappeared.
Geeky: She looked worlds apart from her on-screen character, bespectacled, curly-haired Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan
Co-stars: Actress Octavia Spencer, left, and Viola Davis also have major roles in the movie and turned out to the premiere
The period film follows also follows the fractured relationship between the white and black community of the time.
Stone was pictured last night at the Los Angeles premiere of the DreamWorks flick, which was held in Beverly Hills.
Glamour girls: Jessica Chastain, Mary Steenburgen and Tamala Jones
Red carpet ready: Rachael Harris and Jiah Khan arrive at the premiere
It has been a busy year for Emma, who has also featured alongside Ryan Gosling in Crazy, Stupid Love and had a cameo in Friends With Benefits.
She will also be seen next year in the The Amazing Spider-Man in which she plays the female lead Gwen Stacy.
