Not much movie news lately and I have no time to watch any new shows in the cinema... So I just had this idea of doing a series of top tens on whatever categories of films. Here's the list of my favorite movie openings of all time.

10. West Side Story

Snap... Snap... Snap... Snap...
The Capulets and Montagues Broadway style!!

9. Lord of War

This opening is pretty cool. It's called The Life of a Bullet. It's kinda like the POV of a bullet

8. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Tim Burton and Danny Elfman at their best

7. Star Wars: A New Hope

The ship just went on and on and on and on and on

6. 2001: A Space Odyssey

The movie made no sense to me but I always felt this was epicness

5. The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Greatest movie ever made. Amazing soundtrack to.

4. Pulp Fiction

Just a normal conversation in a diner and then BOOM "Any of you fucking pricks move, and I'll execute every motherfucking last one of you!"

No contest this is the greatest opening credits of all time. Beautiful summary of the world, our wars and history. Backed with the powerful Bob Dylan "Times They Are A Changing"

So whaddya think? Whats your fav movie opening sequences?

Zombieland: Review

Whoo! ZOMBIELAND! The land of zombies, guns and AWESOME! Damn this movie is soooooo stupidly dumb and I freakin love it!

The show is kinda like an American version of Shaun of the Dead. It's about Columbus, a college nerd trying to get back to his home in Ohio. Along the way he meets Tallahassee, a zombie killing machine who's gunning down all of America in search for a Twinkie. The two form an unlikely bond together with a pair of con sisters as they travel the world that is ZOMBIELAND!

Okay you think I'm being sarcastic about the plot right? Hell naw.. that's really the plot of the movie. Stupid right? This film is so hellishly funny and stupid, you can't help but enjoy yourself to death. Zombieland breaks all the usual zombie movie stereotypes. I'd even dare say Zombieland is more of a parody than an actual zombie movie.

And damn Emma Stone is fine! And the movie cleverly plays off her hotness like "What are the odds, everyones dead and I come across a really hot girl. Time for some love making" Suck on that I Am Legend.

Woody Harrelson people! This guy was freakin badass in the movie. Kinda like Clint Eastwood badass but with retardedness. Are Twinkies that nice?

The first 2/3 of the movie was great. The dialogue was funny and the characters had really good chemistry but things kinda fell apart when it came to the climax and ending which I thought was really really stupid. Not funny stupid, like stupid stupid. But it doesn't effect Zombieland's awesomeness.

So if you're looking for some awesome gore with lots of laughs and idiotness, watch this bloody movie. Satisfaction, crunchy and nice... no compromise!

First look at Jessica Alba in Machete!

ComingSoon has released a poster of Jessica Alba as Sartana in the forthcoming Robert Rodriguez movie Machete.

"Machete" is based on the "fake" trailer in Rodriguez's 2007 Grindhouse. The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Danny Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Jeff Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Cheech Marin) his "holy" brother, and April (Lindsay Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.

Here's the original Machete trailer is you wanna see.

Paranormal Activity: Review

So I was visiting the pirated DVD seller guy and he had the original version of Paranormal Activity, not the theatrical one showing in cinemas now, the original cut back in 2007 one. So like an idiot, I, someone who is freakishly afraid of any horror movie involving ghosts, watched Paranormal Activity, at 2a.m, alone and in the dark. Ok not alone la, Samantha Chow was bothering me every 10 minutes. But anyway... this show is freakin phenomenal!

Paranormal Activity is about a couple, Micah and Katie, who suspects that there's some kind of demonic presence in their house. Micah buys a video camera in the hopes of capturing paranormal activity on film. Each night, Micah leaves the video camera on a tripod in their bedroom to record whatever might be occurring while he and Katie sleep.

OMG, this was the freakiest part of the whole show

It's probably just my pussy-ness, but I was literally shaking after the movie ended. It was so scary. As the movie progressed, I just got more and more tensed, my heart was beating so fast, I think if I watched it in a theater, I would have just walked out.

The show is very original. It totally blows The Blair Witch Project away. That's all I can say.

My big complaints are that the night scenes were too short. Most of the movie happens during the day when Micah and Katie are just talking shit. The fun stuff only happens at night. So the film does drag a bit too long. But when it was scary, it was really scary. Another thing is I felt that the ending was a bit anti-climatic. (note this is the original ending, there's a new ending done by Steven Spielberg which I heard is really freaky)

So.. who wants to borrow the movie?

Anthony Hopkins Joining Thor as Odin!

Anthony Hopkins has been cast as Norse god Odin in Marvel Studios' Thor, to be directed by Kenneth Branagh starting January.

Paramount Pictures will release the film on May 20, 2011.

Michael Jackson's This Is It: Review

Man.. I really miss MJ after watching this. Aww man now I'm getting all emotional *sniff*
This Is It! is basically a collection of rehearsal footage's of MJ preparing for is This Is It tour which will never come to be cause the guy had to fucking die. The film showcases him rehearsing all his popular songs and with some interviews with his band mates and dancers.
Watching MJ dance and sing here really makes me miss him all over again. I still can't let him go cause the man's just awesome and he's done so much impact in my life personally. It's great seeing him dance again after such a long time. And yeah since this was just rehearsals, MJ wasn't exactly going all out, I think he gave it mostly 80% for the most parts but 80 is still kick ass tome.
And he's gotta be one of the most well dressed people in the history of rehearsal. In every video he's in, the dues like wearing coats and glasses. MJ got style yo! The only person I found more interesting to watch than MJ was one of his back up dancers.
This girl. Who is this girl? People..I gotta find out who she is! I gotta find out whats her name and where this girl lives so I can o there and ask he to marry me. Damn this girl is fine as hell and she's a great dancer to!
All the performances in This Is It are great. But the ones that I liked best were Thriller, which had some awesome 3D and zombie shit.. Smooth Criminal, which had me having a geekgasm when they had Humphrey Bogart and Rita Hayworth put into the opening video with MJ. I loved The Way You Make Me Feel which is one of my favorite live MJ song and Shake You're Body Down To The Ground which was just some good ole funk and dancing.
But of all the great performances in the film, the one that trumps them all was when MJ did Earth Song and when the video with the Earth Child came out. Wow. That was one of the strongest, most moving videos I have ever seen. Now that would have been a great music video for Earth Song. And Jasmin Alvarez who's the girl in the video is just the cutest thing ever!
There's this other girl in the movie to, she's MJ's guitarist. I got her name right her, her names Orianthi Panagaris. Wow this girl can really kill a guitar.I mean her fingers move up and down those frats like.. like Jimmi fuckin Hendrix man. She totally owns the solo in Beat It but in comparison to the great Jennifer Baten who was MJ's previous guitarist, Orianthi's got a long way to go.
And Kenny Ortega is just a big joke in this movie. He should just sick to directing lame teen musicals cause he's got nothing on MJ. All the scenes with him in it practically has him kissing MJ's ass or having MJ tear all his suggestions apart and all Kenny Ortega does is just go, "Yes MJ. You're right MJ. Sorry MJ. I Love you MJ." So like.. whats the point of him being the director in all this?
You know I really don't see the point of them needing to show This Is It. I really don't need to know what could have been with the concert, I was hoping the film be more of a tribute film to Michael Jackson.
The film barely shows us anything that will make us relate to MJ as a person. I wished there was a personal interview with him instead of hearing how great he is from his band members. We already know he's great.. now we want to know the man in person. MJ barely speaks in this movie and doesn't even look at the camera. The whole time I felt like the kid in the zoo watching the snake in the cage and going, "C'mon! Move!!"
