Josh Hamilton devasted on Thursday night when a fan named Shannon Stone attending a Texas Rangers game with his young son died after falling out of the left-field stands while trying to catch a ball thrown to him by Josh Hamilton, Associated Press reports.
The ball was thrown to firefighter Shannon Stone by Hamilton after the fan called out to the baseball player, reports Sports Illustrated. Stone, who was there with his young son, fell over the railing in his attempt to catch it. According to the sources, the Shannon Stonefell from about 20 feet to the ground.
