Mark Haines Drunk

The bell rang as usual at the New York Stock Exchange Wednesday morning, but missing was the booming voice of longtime CNBC anchor Mark Haines letting viewers know he was on the beat, had their back and was reporting, "Live from the financial capital of the world!"

The no-nonsense early-morning anchor was best known for his penetrating yet fair interviewing style that challenged politicians, bankers, money managers, analysts and economists on key money matters of the day.

There are three main keywords hit the web "mark haines cause of death" and the second is "mark haines drunk" and the third is "cause of death mark haines". There was silence on the trading floor and CNBC presented a retrospective on his life and career. Mark Haines was the consummate professional, unflappable, tough and deeply smart.

Haines was so admired that traders on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange held a moment of silence in his honor. Just after the market opened on May 25, CNBC broadcast that Haines had died the previous evening. There was silence on the trading floor and CNBC presented a retrospective on his life and career. A special television program about his life and career aired on CNBC that evening.

“We all know Mark as being the toughest guy around on the guests,” Cramer said. “He was the standard. He was the former host of the CNBC shows Squawk Box and Squawk on the Street (which airs from 9-11am ET).

CNBC President Mark Hoffman said Haines was "always the unflappable pro." "He was an authentic voice in business media," said Eric Jackson, who runs the hedge fund Ironfire Capital. Co-host Erin Burnett moved on to CNN, with May 6th, 2011 being her last show with Haines. CNBC made the announcement of Haines’ death on their website, but the cause of death has not been released publicly.
